The moment of truth has now arrived.

I just got my absentee ballot for the Pennsylvania Primary in the mail. I haven’t decided yet who I want to vote for. Who do you think is the best candidate? I’m especially interested in hearing what non-Americans think.

Hey Sarah, vote for Ron Paul!
I like Obama better than Clinton, although I disagree fundamentally with him on some issues. I particularly like that he is calling for a doubling of our budgeted aid for remediation of extreme poverty. Also, at a more general level, I like the fact that he seems more authentic, less fearful of speaking his mind on divisive subjects, and more willing to reach out to those with differing political views.
So I vote that you vote for Obama.
I agree with you, Kevin. I am still undecided, though, because while Clinton and Obama are nearly identical on policy issues, I think Clinton comes across as more competent and knowledgeable. Plus there are a few comments Obama has made that have tripped my sexism detector. I just don’t know. Thankfully I still have a week or two to decide.
And Bethany, you can rest assured that if I vote Republican, I will vote for Ron Paul.
If I had to vote for someone from a party whose policies I generally disagree with, I guess it would make sense to vote small-government and not big-government. Paul is an interesting guy, though, I have to give him that. I kinda like him.
Sorry to take so long to get back to you–Gmail thought my comment notifications were spam. Surely that can’t have been my fault…
I actually don’t think I’m going to bother voting. Is that bad?
Bethany
They’re identical on policy, but there’s more than a few hints that it’s just a temporary thing for the general; Obama’s advisors are way more liberal on everything than Clinton’s.
No, Bethany…I think that people who don’t feel like voting shouldn’t vote. If you don’t care who wins, then I don’t see any reason to bother.
And Jason: good to know. Where are you getting your election news coverage? I would like to do a little more reading but don’t know what sources to trust.
Was that a request for a link dump? Why yes!

That’s about it, other than the endless arguing I do about politics on a gaming forum.
Thanks, Jason. That’s exactly what I was looking for.
Now, Kevin: do you have any resources you can recommend?
I read some of the same things Jason mentioned above. I would also recommend Real Clear Politics (http://www.realclearpolitics.com/). They have all the latest polls, running poll averages, and a round-up of a lot of the latest commentary and news.
P.S. Tell your comment validation software that I *did* pass math, that it didn’t, and that 7 + 0 really does equal 7!
Thanks, Kevin. Do you know if that site has a news feed for anything other than the blog? I couldn’t find one.
As for the plugin–I guess it’s time for me to learn PHP?
